Master of Arts Education

FAQS

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

What is the Master of Arts in Education (MAE) program?

The Master of Arts in Education (MAE) at Muskingum University is a flexible, fully online graduate program for licensed teachers who want to advance their credentials, add endorsements, earn additional teaching licenses, or complete a master’s degree.

All MAE courses are delivered asynchronously, allowing working educators to complete coursework on their own schedule in five- or eight-week sessions.

When can I enroll in the MAE program?

Students may apply year-round and begin coursework at the start of any eight-week term. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, making it easy to start when the time is right for you.

What’s the difference between the MAE and MAT programs?
  • MAE (Master of Arts in Education): Designed for currently licensed teachers seeking career advancement, endorsements, additional licenses, or a master’s degree.
  • MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching): Intended for individuals who are not yet licensed teachers and want to enter the teaching profession.
