Magenta Homecoming 2025 Highlights
As the summer begins to draw to a close and students return for the start of another semester on our beautiful campus hills, Muskingum University eagerly anticipates the return of generations of alumni, families, and friends for Magenta Homecoming 2025. This year’s celebration promises a vibrant mix of nostalgia, tradition, and new experiences that capture the heart of what it means to be a Muskie family.
We invite everyone to join us for the 103rd Magenta Homecoming held Oct. 10-12. The weekend kicks off on Friday with a special Presidential Luncheon for the Class of 1975 celebrating 50 years since their graduation. Back for the first time since 2017, we are thrilled to offer several Alumni College Presentations! These sessions will feature alumni, staff and faculty highlighting a variety of topics including stories from a lifetime of missionary work in Africa from two of our Distinguished Alumni Recipients, Alumni/Student Travel opportunities, Planned Giving, and an Alumni Award Recipients panel focusing on careers in the STEMM field. Join the presentations to hear exciting initiatives, thought-provoking dialogues, shared experiences and fun stories from our hosts!
All alumni are invited to join in the Student/Alumni networking session—whether you are a seasoned professional ready to share your expertise with the next generation or a newer member of the Long Magenta Line looking for some advice, this is the event for you! Immediately following networking, we will gather for the All-Alumni Welcome Reception on the quad followed by the annual Alumni Awards Banquet. We will conclude the evening with the always anticipated Collage Concert in Brown Chapel, bringing a multitude of musicians and ensembles together for a wonderful showcase of talent.
The celebration continues on Saturday with a brand-new event this year—Coffee and Cornhole with the Council. This social time will allow alumni the chance to get to know current Alumni Council members and learn more about initiatives of the group. President Hasseler will provide her annual campus update. All reunion classes are invited to attend lunch in the Steele Center gymnasium where class photos will also be taken. After lunch, prepare to cheer on the Fighting Muskies as they take on the Ohio Northern Polar Bears for the Homecoming Football Game. Immediately following the game, Muskies will head down to the East Lawn for live music, food trucks, beverage trailer and activities for all ages. The Theatre Department will have its First Year Show that evening at 7 p.m. in Caldwell Hall for any interested alumni.
We will end the weekend with the Student/Alumni Chapel service to reflect on a weekend of new memories. Alumni are invited to join the choir as well! Before leaving our beloved campus, all are welcome to attend the Farewell Brunch and share your goodbyes. The First Year Show also will have a 2 p.m. performance if your travel plans are later in the evening.
Whether it’s been five or 50 years since you walked the hills of campus, Homecoming is your time to reconnect—with old friends, professors, and the place that helped shape your story. Stay tuned for the official launch of registration information and the complete and detailed schedule, which will be found at muskingum.edu/alumni/ magenta-homecoming.
We’ll see you soon!
