Fall Arts Preview
Muskingum University’s fall 2025 arts schedule features an exciting slate of performances as well as gallery exhibits.
Music Performances
Adjunct Professor of Saxophone Austin Spillman kicks off the fall concert season with Faculty Recital on Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. He will be performing with the Zephyr Chamber Winds.
Professor Emeritus Harsha Abeyaratne will perform a Piano Recital on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
Magenta Homecoming weekend features the annual Homecoming Collage Concert on Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. in Brown Chapel. October also includes the Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble Concert on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
November has several concerts with the Chamber Ensembles Concert on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. and Heather Dawson Senior Recital on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. Begin Thanksgiving week with the Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds as they present their Fall Concert on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. Then enjoy the Musical Theatre Ensemble Concert on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. in Walter Hall Room 204.
Talented regional high school students will gather on campus for the Instrumental YouthFest on Nov. 8 and Choral YouthFest on Nov. 15.
In December, celebrate the holidays with Muskingum at the annual Muskingum Christmas Festival featuring musical performances, readings, and Christmas carols on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
All performances are in Brown Chapel unless otherwise indicated. Performances are free and open to the public.
Palmer Gallery Exhibition
The gallery seasons opens from Sept. 10 through Oct. 1 with the Eastern Ohio Artist Exhibition, featuring works by artists from New Philadelphia, Cambridge, Zanesville, and Columbus. The opening reception is from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 10, and a lecture and artist demonstration will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 17.
Theatre
The Theatre Department will present their First Year Show during Homecoming weekend on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. in Caldwell Hall’s Thompson Theatre. Details for the production will be announced soon.
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (adaptation by Romulus Linney) will be Nov. 20-22 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. in Caldwell Hall’s Thompson Theatre.
