About
Muskingum’s CAD micro-credential is a self-paced, fully online opportunity designed to equip students with the essential tools to design, craft, and model using industry standard tools. These courses are led by Professor Yingxiao Song of the Physics and Engineering Department, consisting of three specialized tracks – Modeling, Assembling and Engineering Drawing. These programs offer both technical drawing foundations as well as hands on 3D-modeling experience.
These modules are ideal for students who are pursuing careers in civil, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, while also allowing individuals who are not in these specialized fields enhance their resumes with verified technical competencies that are recognized across the industry.
Modeling:
- 3D Creation and Assembly Modeling (Fusion 360 / Onshape)
- Cover Design Techniques
- 15+ Individual Component Bills & 4 Full Assemblies
Assembling:
- 3D Creation and Assembly Modeling (Fusion 360 / Onshape)
- Cover Design Techniques
- 15+ Individual Component Bills & 4 Full Assemblies
Engineering Drawing:
- Precise Engineering Schematics
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T)
- Quizzes, Drawing Assignments, and Project-Based Assessments
Upon completion of each module, students will be awarded a digital badge. When all three modules are complete, students earn the micro-credential, including a final digital badge.
