Kenneth Pohl, Class of 1960

Kenneth Leroy Pohl of Trussville, Alabama was born on February 1, 1939 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He and his brother, Bill Pohl, grew up in the home of their parents, Lula and William Pohl Jr. He graduated as Valedictorian from Monaca High School. He attended and graduated from Muskingum University with a double major in physics and mathematics. After graduation he began his 40 plus years of work in the steel industry. He began in the mill portion of the Jones and Laughlin (J&L) steel mill. He eventually switched to human resources where he remained until retirement. During his tenure with J&L, the company transitioned to LTV Steel and participated in several joint ventures with other steel companies; he continued in human resources with each endeavor. The last joint venture of LTV was with Sumitomo Metal and British Steel where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources until retirement. He was predeceased by his Mother, Lula Frances Pohl and father, William James Pohl Jr. He is survived by his wife, Fran Pohl; son, Ron Pohl, Ron's wife, Carol; son, Rick Pohl, Rick's wife, Ora; daughter, Cindy Stafford, Cindy's husband, Vaughn; daughter, Deb Cunningham, and her husband, Bob; grandchildren-Jamie Godec, Jamie's significant other, Mike Hein, Adam Godec, Ron Pohl, Ron's wife Danica, Ellie Chamness, Ellie's husband, Cody, William Stafford; Sarah Lowry, Sarah's husband Gary Davenport, Scott Lowry, Jay Lowry; great grandchildren-Dak and Emmie Chamness; his brother, Bill Pohl, Bill's wife, Carol, and nephews, Bill Pohl, Bill's wife, Denise, and Philip Pohl, Philip's wife, Veronica, and many other beloved cousins and family.
