remarkable women awards

Muskingum University Associate Professor of Communication Lisa Marshall ’03 and retired Director of Public Relations Janice Tucker McCloud ’09 MAE were among those honored at the March 24, 2018 “Remarkable Women: Past, Present and Future” luncheon hosted by the Museum Association of East Muskingum in partnership with the Ohio History Connection.

The annual awards luncheon was held in honor of Annie Glenn ’42, wife of the late John H. Glenn, Jr. ’43 and a lifelong advocate for people with communication disorders.  Mrs. Glenn celebrated her 98th birthday on February 17, 2018.

The three Remarkable Women Awards – “Past, Present, and Future” – recognize individuals for their unique contributions in the spirit of Annie Glenn.

Clara Glenn, mother of John Glenn, was recognized as the “Past” honoree for her influence on John Glenn’s character and values. Her tribute was presented by Bev Allen’64, who portrays Clara in the living history tours given at the John and Annie Glenn Museum.

Ms. McCloud received the “Present” award in recognition of her “positive and highly impactful community support.”  Her tribute was presented by Dr. Sheila Ellenberger, Distinguished Librarian Emerita of Muskingum University.

Dr. Marshall was honored with the “Future” award for contributions to excellence in education.  She has been a member of the Muskingum University faculty since 2007 and also serves as the station manager for Orbit Media’s WMCO 90.7.  Her tribute was presented by former Muskingum County Commissioner Dorothy Montgomery ‘53.

The Museum Association of East Muskingum (MAEM) manages the John and Annie Glenn Museum and the National Road-Zane Grey Museum in partnership with the Ohio History Connection. MAEM was formerly known as the John and Annie Glenn Foundation.
