Muskingum University celebrated the accomplishments of the class of 2020 during a virtual undergraduate Commencement on May 9 at 3:30.

The ceremony, which streamed live from Orbit Media’s studio to the University’s Commencement webpage and to six social media channels, featured live remarks from President Hasseler and Provost Nancy Evangelista, as well as recorded remarks from senior class rep Ryan Moffo, faculty rep Dr. Ky Davis, and Dr. Kim Gage Rothermel, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

The event featured individually designed slides of every graduate, in addition to videos of congratulations and well wishes from family and friends to honor this awesome group of Muskies. The dynamic, multimedia ceremony was the result of several weeks of planning by the University’s Commencement task force created to deliver the most appropriate and memorable celebration for graduates.

“The class of 2020 certainly has a special place in our hearts and in the history of Muskingum University,” said Provost Evangelista. “While we would all prefer to celebrate in person, we very much appreciated virtually gathering with so many students, families, faculty, staff, and friends to honor the remarkable footprint left by this amazing group.”

The 40-minute Commencement program was viewed by more than 600 households and has been watched over 7000 times since the ceremony. The University’s social media channels saw over 23,000 total engagements throughout the event and over 3000 people visited the Commencement web page.
