YouthFests Welcome High School Musicians to Campus
Youthfest

Muskingum University recently welcomed more than 150 regional high school musicians to campus for two YouthFest musical events, continuing a more than 30-year tradition of providing talented students with an opportunity to further develop their musical skills.

YouthFest participants are nominated by their high school music directors. While on campus, they experience rehearsals, master classes, and workshops with Muskingum music faculty and students. The experience concludes with a performance by the YouthFest musicians.

The Choral YouthFest was held on Nov. 4, 2023, with the YouthFest Choir performance conducted by Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Daniel Strychacz. It involved more than 60 students.

The Instrumental YouthFest, held on Nov. 18, 2023, involved more than 90 students. Dr. David Turrill, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands, conducted the YouthFest band.
