EARLY CHILDHOOD GENERALIST ENDORSEMENT

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

  • 12 credit hours total 
  • Must already hold an Early Childhood (PreK–3) license 
  • Fully online coursework covering integrated content methods and pedagogy for grades 4–5 
  • Additional field hours required as part of endorsement requirements 
  • Endorsement credits may apply toward completing the full MAE degree

  • EDUC 655 * Integrated Sciences for Early Childhood Generalist Grades 4–5 (4)

  • EDUC 657 * Integrated Language Arts & Social Studies for Early Childhood Generalist Grades 4–5 (4)

WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH AN EARLY CHILDHOOD GENERALIST ENDORSEMENT

With the Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement, you’ll be qualified to:

  • Teach grades 4–5 content areas in science, math, language arts, and social studies
  • Extend your impact beyond PreK–3 into upper-elementary generalist roles
  • Provide integrated instruction bridging early childhood and upper-elementary content
  • Serve as a curriculum support or specialist bridging elementary grade bands

CAREER OUTCOMES

Graduates may pursue roles including:

  • Generalist teacher for grades 4–5
  • Elementary classroom teacher with broadened content areas
  • Instructional specialist or grade-level coordinator across early/upper grades
  • Curriculum or content support roles at the school or district level
