Rev. M. Dudley Rose, Class of 1963

The Rev. M. Dudley Rose, born March 09, 1941, entered into the full meaning
of our Easter Faith on Friday, October 27, 2023. Preceding him in physical
death were his parents; Bob and Kay Rose, and his sister Kathy Ondo. Pastor
Rose leaves, for the time being, his wife of 47years, Dorothy Creps Rose;
daughters, Sheri Dowden, Heather (Greg) Hammonds, and Deborah (Will)
Kopp and ten grandchildren.

A third generation Presbyterian Minister, he served congregations in
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia and was founding Pastor of Geneva
Presbyterian in Switzerland Florida, where his cremated remains will be
inurned. A Certified Interim, Rev. Rose worked with churches in Louisiana,
Florida and Montana. He also was Dean of the Chapel at Grove City PA
College, Moderator of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and was an
experienced Conflict Management Consultant. He retired as Head of staff in
2010 from McDonough Presbyterian Church who honored him with Pastor
Emeritus status.

Pastor Rose attended the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship,
graduated from Muskingum (OH) College and Princeton Theological
Seminary. Continuing education included St. Andrews University, Scotland,
and the American Summer Institute, Switzerland. He coached football at
Riverside High School in Western PA for eight years while also serving a
Presbyterian Church. Rev. Rose was Chaplain for Syria Shrine Temple,
Pittsburgh, PA, as well as Chaplain with the Henry County Police
Department. His book “Life Lessons from the Table” was published in 2007.
