Glenn Morckel, Class of 1966

Glenn Morckel, 79, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2024, surrounded by his wife Beverly, daughter Joanne and son Andrew.
Glenn was born on May 1st, 1944, to Lewis and Louise Morckel, in Salineville, Ohio. After Glenn graduated from Carrolton High School in 1962, he went on to study education at Muskingum College (New Concord, Ohio), and later attended Akron University for his master's degree.
After graduating from Muskingum with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, he started his teaching career in Canton City Schools as a junior high math teacher. Glenn finished his career in education related sales.
In 1964, Glenn met Beverly at the Augusta Strawberry Festival in Augusta, Ohio. They enjoyed two dances together the night they met, and the rest is history. Glenn and Beverly went on get married in 1966 and have two children, Joanne, and Andrew. Glenn and Beverly were married for 57 wonderful years.
In 2012, Glenn retired and above all else loved spending time with his family and friends. Glenn and Beverly traveled often to visit their daughter's family in England, son-in-law Steve and 4 grandchildren, Abigail, Hannah, Ethan, and Jessica. They would also travel to visit their son's family in Cincinnati, daughter-in-law Paige and 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Harper, and Lucas. Glenn was an avid bowler and greatly enjoyed the comradery of bowling leagues with his wife and friends. Glenn was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church, John Knox Presbyterian Church, and The Eagles of North Canton. Glenn was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed any western movie with John Wayne. Glenn also enjoyed taking care of the yard and gardening, with a green thumb for cherry tomatoes.
Glenn is survived by his wife Beverly, children Joanne and Andrew, his 7 grandchildren, his 8 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
