Muskingum Hosts Be WISE Camp
Muskingum University hosted the 34th edition of the residential Be WISE Camp for Middle School girls from June 11-16, 2023.
Seventy students attend the STEM camp, which is designed to develop interest, excitement, and self-confidence in young women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math topics. Campers apply their problem-solving and thinking skills to hands-on, real-life experiences in STEM.
Since its founding in 1989 by Women In Science Education, more than 3,700 middle school girls have completed the program. The program’s goal is to encourage and motivate campers to continue to enroll in STEM classes at the high school and college levels and to consider careers in STEM fields.
