This summer, Muskingum University will be offering an accelerated, innovative Intervention Specialist licensure program, Jumpstart, in Canton, Columbus and on campus.
The 7-week program, which begins June 3, is open to both initial and advanced licensed teachers. Any additional coursework required to complete the program will be available online.
“Candidates who have completed Jumpstart have found outstanding job opportunities in a strong, expanding teaching market,” said Nancy Bradley, director of graduate and continuing studies for educator preparation.
According to Bradley, Jumpstart is an ideal “next step” for paraprofessionals to become licensed teachers. With their classroom experience, they can become very impactful teachers by adding the license.
