Bio

Oluwatoyin Osunsanya received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 1983, 1985, and 1989 respectively. In 1990, she joined the Biology Department at Muskingum University. Oluwatoyin teaches Microbiology, Genetics, Human Genetics, Topics in Molecular Biology, and Science and Society. She oversees student senior seminars and research in microbiology or molecular biology. Oluwatoyin advises biology and molecular biology students. Her current research interests are culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches to the characterization of bacteria isolated from a surface mined landscape She is a member of the American Society for Microbiology.
