Two speech team members qualify for national tournamentThe Muskingum College speech team, at its first tournament of the year, produced two national qualifiers.
Rachel Thompson '09 placed second in after dinner speaking and Micah Miller '11 placed fifth in novice prose. Both qualified their categories for the National Forensic League national tournament to be held this spring.
Also earning honors for Muskingum in novice Lincoln-Douglas debate was John Jamin Wagler '11, who qualified for the final round of competition and ultimately placed second in the event.
The tournament was held on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and hosted competition in parliamentary and Lincoln-Douglass debate, as well as individual events. A total of 17 colleges and universities competed.
The director of forensics at Muskingum College is Instructor of Speech Communication Rachel Pollock.
