The University’s Chamber Singers kicked off the celebration and were followed energetically by soloists Eli Branham ’20 and Shelly Burley ’12 who performed songs specifically selected for both Mrs. Hefflin and Mr. Loomis. During her opening presentation, President Hasseler lauded their exemplary time with the Board. “Ruth and Al have been wonderful and faithful University board members and we are honored to celebrate them as they retire from the board after 57 years of combined service this evening.”

The program also featured a ceremony officially passing the gavel from outgoing chair of The Board of Trustees, Hal Burlingame, to current chair of The Board of Trustees Dr. Kim Rothermel.
