Traditional Senior Salute Toasts the Class of 2021
President Hasseler at 2021 Senior Salute

Muskingum University’s traditional Senior Salute toasted graduating seniors in the Class of 2021, launching commencement weekend. The salute was held in a tent on The Quad where seniors gathered and reminisced.

University President Sue Hasseler offered brief remarks and delivered a toast, which focused on facing the future with hope, courage, and confidence. Her remarks included excerpts from the The Hill We Climb, by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman.  President Hasseler concluded her toast with the words: “To The Class of 2021: May you be brave enough to see the light, May you be brave enough to be the light, As you step aflame and unafraid into the future. To the Long Magenta Line!”

University faculty and staff members served of-age graduates champagne, with sparkling water served to younger graduates.  Each attendee received a commemorative glass and also enjoyed a photo booth and light snacks.
