Megan Holly chose Muskingum because it was a small school in a rural setting not unlike her hometown of Spencer, Ohio. Megan was a political science and psychology double major.

Megan is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, a national sorority, as well as Sigma Alpha Iota, a music fraternity, Psi Chi, the psychology honorary, and Helping Hands and Hearts.

Megan gained a hands-on experience in the political science field through an internship with the City of Zanesville. Along with other students who are a part of the Center for Regional Planning and Development, Megan helped to create a Master Plan for the City of Zanesville. Megan was recommended for the internship by Dr. Walter Huber. She was selected after interviewing with the Director of Community Development for the City of Zanesville.

Megan says, “I am learning a lot about how the Community Development Department runs. I am working with the planning and zoning inspector of the city and that has helped me to learn all the laws that come along with design and other aspects that can affect building codes and regulations.”

Following graduation, Megan hopes to put her experience to good use working for a city government.
