Dylan Parker, a junior from Huntington, West Virginia, is a French and Spanish double major who spent his fall semester studying in Toledo, Spain.
While in Toledo, Dylan took classes in Spanish, traveled all over Europe, and visited friends who had previous been exchange students at Muskingum. He says, “My time in Spain was an absolutely life-changing experience.” Dylan will also study abroad in Toulon, France this coming fall.
Dylan’s interest in world languages and other cultures has also played out in his housing assignment the last couple of years – he has elected to room with a foreign exchange student, an experience he wouldn’t have expected prior to coming to Muskingum.
On campus, Dylan is involved as a member of the Equality Alliance and he works in the Student Life Office as a student assistant.
Dylan says he chose Muskingum because “It just felt like home to me. It was far away from home that I could spread my wings a little bit, yet close enough that I could go home when I wanted to see my family. Foremost, though, I chose to come to Muskingum because everyone…is here to learn and better themselves in some way, and the faculty and staff are here to help you in whichever ways they can.”
