Danielle Hart, an English and Spanish double major from Worthington, Ohio, graduated in 2014. She went on to earn her master’s in English from Kent State, and now she is pursuing her Ph.D. in English at Miami University. She is working as a teaching assistant, teaching Composition and Rhetoric, a freshman writing course. She says, “Before I started grad school, I wasn't sure how much I would like teaching, but I actually really enjoy it! It's rewarding to see students' writing improving throughout the semester.”
Danielle says, “I wouldn’t be here without the support from the wonderful faculty in the English and Spanish departments, who wrote letters of recommendation for me and helped me figure out how to even begin applying to graduate programs. Working at the Writing Center was also a helpful experience because it prepared me for teaching my own classes.”
Danielle, who chose Muskingum because she wanted to study at a small school, originally started her undergrad career as an English major, but later decided to add a Spanish major and study abroad in Argentina.
