The History Department will host a panel discussion (followed by a Q & A) on the long history of concentration camps.  This event will provide historical background and context for both the term "concentration camp" and their use from the late 19th through the 20th century.  It will focus on their use in South Africa, the Philippines, Germany, and Kenya.  Also, the event will provide a foundation for understanding their existence today in multiple countries.
