Vice President for Finance, Operations, and Strategy

Muskingum University invites applications and nominations for an entrepreneurial vice-president to direct the university’s financial and administrative operations in a manner that positions the university for a thriving future.

As the university’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, the Vice President reports to the President and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  The Vice President also provides support to the Board of Trustees’ University Capacity and Audit Committees.  This position is an excellent opportunity for a creative and strategic leader, who will be supported by a strong balance sheet, balanced budget, and an experienced finance and operations leadership team.

The Vice President provides vision, oversight, and stewardship for financial services, information technology, physical plant and facilities, strategic planning and institutional research, human resources and risk management, and campus safety.  With a focus on inclusion, innovation, and effectiveness, the Vice President optimizes these resources and the university’s assets to promote student access and success and to advance the university’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.

The selected candidate will have a bachelors’ degree in business administration or related field, with a relevant, advanced degree or certification preferred; a record of success in a senior-level financial or administrative position; proven success in creatively managing complex and evolving environments; the highest level of integrity; strong leadership skills; and a demonstrated record of strategic formation and implementation.  A cooperative and collaborative management style and the ability to work with a variety of constituencies typical of a university setting are essential.
