Theatre Shop Foreman
The Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre at Muskingum University invites applications for a part-time Theatre Scene Shop Foreman. This staff position will work directly under the Theatre Technical Director to execute the construction of all scenic items used in the production of five shows from September through April in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
Position duties will include supervising 7-9 technical theatre student workers weekday afternoons for an average of 20 hours per week. The position is also responsible for training student workers on proper use of tools, construction techniques, and safety procedures and for ensuring all projects are completed on time.
The successful candidate must have at least a high school diploma and two years of practical work experience in a related field. Experience in reading blueprints and strong oral and written communication skills are required. Candidates must be able to lift and carry materials weighing between 50-100 pounds daily, and the position requires prolonged standing and climbing of steps and ladders.
