Graduate Assistant Men’s Baseball

Muskingum University invites applications for a one-year contract, with a one-year renewable appointment, as a Graduate Assistant in Men’s Baseball in the Department of Athletics.  The position is under the direct supervision of the VP/Director of Athletics and the Head Baseball Coach.

Duties include serving as the Assistant Baseball Coach and the Fall Sports Game Manager.  As the Assistant Baseball Coach, he/she will help conduct all-season athletic conditioning, lifting, and non-traditional practice sessions, assist in planning practice execution, and game plan preparation during the traditional season, assist with game and travel preparations, coordinate recruiting efforts and campus visits as well as coordinate junior varsity responsibilities. As the Fall Sports Game Manager, he/she will coordinate facility usage, public address system needs, locker room assignments, etc., supervise and coordinate student workers at home sport functions, oversee officials’ and team needs, communicate with all key personnel and intervene if any emergency or unforeseen condition should arise during a contest. This includes other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Director of Athletics.

This is a ten-month appointment, which begins August 1, 2021.  Position includes graduate school tuition remission for Muskingum University, monthly stipend, room, and board.  The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree, strong collegiate background in volleyball, good organizational and management skills, and operate under the philosophy and roles of the NCAA and OAC.  The appointment is contingent upon graduate school acceptance and a successful background check.
