Education Support Specialist

Muskingum University is seeking an Educational Support Specialist to serve as an integral member of our student support team.  Reporting to the Dean of Student Educational Services, this position is primarily responsible for managing academic supports for academically at-risk students, including providing direct services to students, coordinating interventions, and assessing student outcomes.  

Responsibilities:

  • Track student academic progress using the Starfish early alert system

  • Coordinate interventions for at-risk students

  • Serve as an academic coach for at-risk undergraduate students

  • Summarize and report student success outcomes

  • Support the academic standards process

  • Teach an academic success course for at-risk first year students

Desired qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education, College Student Development, Human Services, or related field.  Prior experience with providing and coordinating direct services to at-risk students, as well as program leadership and evaluation, is expected.  Prior teaching experience is desirable.  Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of strategies that promote academic success, and a passion for undergraduate education.  As an equal opportunity employer, Muskingum University strongly encourages applications from women and minorities, including populations traditionally underserved by higher education.
