Counselor (part-time)

Muskingum University invites applications for a Counselor.  This position provides direct clinical counseling services delivered at the Muskingum University Counseling Center, as well as designs and delivers mental health-related programming for students, faculty, and staff.  This is a part-time position.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct clinical and consultative services at the Counseling Center
    • Schedule and deliver counseling services to students of Muskingum University, ensuring that services meet student needs
    • Complete all required documentation of services in a timely manner
    • Consult with faculty and staff regarding student mental health issues
    • Respond to emergency/crisis needs as required
  • Design and deliver educational programs and trainings
    • Offer pop-up programs, workshops, presentations, and psychoeducational programs for students
    • Offer workshops and training opportunities for faculty and staff to support student well-being
    • Collaborate with Student Health Center and other University departments to co-sponsor programs as appropriate
  • Collaborate with the Director of Counseling Services to assess needs and develop strategic plans to foster mental health and promote growth within the campus community

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or related field
  • Must have current LPCC or LISW licensure by the State of Ohio
  • Two to three years counseling experience preferred, with experience in a college or university setting a plus
  • Excellent clinical, communication, planning, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Experience in designing and delivering mental health and well-being programs and trainings for a variety of audiences
