Assistant Professor of Nutrition
The Department of Exercise and Health Science at Muskingum University invites applications for a continuing-term faculty position in nutrition at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and students in Muskingum’s growing programs in exercise science, health and fitness, public health, and pre-medical profession specialties. In Fall 2022, the University opened the new Henry D. Bullock Health and Wellness Complex, which provides extraordinary opportunities for student participation in wellness programming and community partnerships.
Teaching responsibilities will include introduction to nutrition, nutrition across the lifespan, sport nutrition and supplementation, and possibly additional nutrition courses in areas of interest. In addition to teaching responsibilities, we are seeking an individual who can also design nutrition-based programming for Muskingum University students, student-athletes, and the greater New Concord community through the Health and Wellness Complex. Such programming could include nutrition-based education topics, integration of nutrition management into clinical practica, and consultation with athletics.
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or similar field. Candidates must be a Commission on Dietetic Registration Registered Dietitian with an Ohio Dietician license or eligible to obtain Ohio licensure before the Fall 2023 term. Preferred qualifications include previous clinical experience in general population and/or sport-specific programming, health promotion, and high-risk disease management via nutrition counseling and the prescription of individualized diet plans.
