Assistant / Associate Professor of Accounting
The Department of Economics, Accounting, and Business at Muskingum University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning the Fall semester of 2021. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in income taxes, auditing, and advanced financial accounting; additional courses may be in the areas of governmental accounting and accounting information systems. The department serves many majors inside and outside the department, including thriving programs in Health Administration and Sports Administration.
The successful candidate will help create a long-term vision for the accounting program that builds on prior successes while meeting the educational needs of 21st century students and employers. This exciting opportunity calls for a team player, who will work with community partners to build experiential education opportunities that will prepare students for professional practice.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Accounting or the DBA with the ability to teach Accounting; ABD candidates will be considered with the understanding that the doctorate must be completed within one year. Professional certification (CPA preferred) and applied experience are highly desired. Professional activity, including publication, is required for tenure. Excellent student advising is an expectation for all faculty at Muskingum, as is service to the campus community.
