Adult and Graduate Education Advisor

Muskingum University invites applications for an Adult and Graduate Education Advisor.  The Advisor will work to align prior education, credentials, and experience to the program that is best suited for the student's goal.  The advisor will assist in data-informed recruitment that leverages technology for outreach, efficiency, and impact.  This position will help design and execute innovative enrollment strategies while fostering partnerships with ESCs, school districts, and higher education institutions across Ohio.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Advising and Student Management

  • Advise prospective and current students in initial and advanced licensure programs using various technology platforms (e.g., virtual advising, scheduling software, advising dashboards).
  • Assist students throughout their admission process in Slate, answering questions and providing advice as needed.
  • Assist students in aligning program selection with Ohio licensure requirements and long-term career goals, including registering for classes.
  • Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Slate) to track advising interactions, manage student follow-ups, and automate reminders.
  • Continuously assess and optimize advising tools, workflows, and communication templates to enhance student experience and improve operational efficiency.

Communication, Advising, and Relationship Management

  • Partner with the Director to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with ESCs, school districts, and community colleges across Ohio by supporting the relationships with appropriate advising and student follow-up.
  • Lead advising-centered outreach efforts that extend beyond recruitment-helping prospective students envision and navigate their credentialing or licensure journey from inquiry to program completion.
  • Utilize CRM workflows, personalized email campaigns, and virtual information sessions to initiate and sustain meaningful engagement with prospective adult and graduate students.
  • Serve as the trusted first point of contact for prospective students, offering individualized, technology-supported advising that clarifies program options and aligns with professional advancement goals.
  • Represent Muskingum University at in-person and virtual events to promote not only enrollment but long-term student success through proactive advising conversations.
  • Analyze recruitment and advising trends via data dashboards, using insights to refine outreach and strengthen student support throughout the enrollment lifecycle.

Strategic Collaboration for Program Development

  • Collaborate with the Director of Graduate Teacher Education to identify high-demand licensure and credential needs, drawing on student and partner input and workforce trends.
  • Work with the Marketing team to co-create digital advertising, promotional collateral, and virtual content (e.g., videos, webinars).
  • Contribute insights to curriculum relevance, market alignment, and student feedback loops to support continuous improvement.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's in education or related field preferred.
  • Goal-oriented and data-informed approach to advising.
  • Familiarity with Ohio's Pre-K-12 educator licensure structure.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and virtual communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage advising priorities efficiently.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Slate preferred), virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams), and communication automation tools.
  • Technologically proficient with a mindset for improving processes through digital tools and innovation.
  • Commitment to student-centered service aligned with the mission of Muskingum University.
