Guest Artist Recital: Gerald Lee, piano

The recital is free and open to the public.

Pianist Gerald Lee, professor of piano at West Liberty State University, will perform works by Debussy, Schubert and Ginastera. He has performance degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has studied piano with such esteemed teachers as Virginia Sandford, Reiko Nerikiell, and the late Distinguished Professor György Sebök. In addition, he won 3rd place in the 2003 International Beethoven Piano Sonata Competition held in Memphis, Tennessee.

His 2010 solo recital for the Charleston (West Virginia) Chamber Music Society was lauded by the Charleston Daily Mail as an “overwhelming musical success… Lee upheld the Charleston Chamber Music Society’s reputation for bringing top-rated artists to their Christ Church United Methodist venue.” Lee is also the recipient of the 2017 WVMTA (West Virginia Music Teachers' Association) Distinguished Leader of the Year Award.
