Civil War Historical Bonanza Tour

Departs from and returns to New Concord Ohio



Spend seven days with fellow Muskies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia from June 9 to June 15. You’ll visit historical landmarks, battlegrounds, and museums, led by Professors William Kerrigan and Thomas McGrath.
Locations include Gettysburg National Military Park, the National Cemetery, the White House of the Confederacy, American Civil War Museum, Berkeley Plantation, Thomas Jefferson’s estate, among others.

Price per Person: $1,432.50 (based on double occupancy) Booking covers motor coach transportation, six nights of rooms,
six breakfasts, and dinner on Day 1

Day 1: Depart to Gettysburg, PA from New Concord, OH. Spend time at the Gettysburg Visitors Center and tour historic battle locations. Enjoy dinner at General Pickett’s Restaurant.
Day 2:Sharpsburg, MD, Explore the scene of the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest day in American History; Dunker Church, the National Cemetery, and Harpers Ferry.
Day 3:Fredericksburg, MD. Tour Chatham Mansion, the Fredericksburg Visitors Center and the Ferry Farm, George Washington’s Boyhood Home Site.
Day 4-5: Richmond, VA. Spend the first of two days here to visit the Museum & White House of the Confederacy, the Executive Mansion for Jefferson Davis; Cold Harbor Battlefield and the Berkeley Plantation, one of the first slave rearing estates in America.
Day 6: Appomattox and Charlottesville, VA. Visit the place where General Lee’s Army surrendered. The museum features more than 400 artifacts, photographs and documents, including the uniform coat and sword Robert E. Lee wore to surrender. In Charlottesville, visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s estate.
Day 7: Travel back to New Concord.
