Off-Campus Instruction FAQ

  1. How are accommodations handled for off-campus instruction?
    • In an attempt to have minimal impact on faculty during this time, DEO asks that you adjust Blackboard tests and quizzes to match extended time accommodations. DEO will facilitate accommodations for readers, scribes, etc.
  2. How do we adjust tests and quizzes for extended time testing?
    • Build your test or quiz as usual, but before the test is deployed, adjust your Test Options for a single student or group of students. This will eliminate needing to create a copy of the exam with a password.
      • Under Test Options > Test Availability Exceptions, each user can be adjusted for their accommodations of time duration, number of attempts, availability, and force completion.
    • Click here for an instructional video on how to adjust the test options for accommodations.
  3. Who do I contact if I still have questions?
    • DEO can be contacted via:
      • e-mail at deo@muskingum.edu
      • phone at 740-826-6132
      • Teams chat with Carissa Taylor or Katlyn Goodin
  4. How do I know if my online materials need to be in an accessible format?
    • If a student's accommodation letter from the DEO is listed as Course Materials in Alternate Format it means they need course materials in an accessible format.
  5. How do I ensure my online materials are in an accessible format?
