Bio

Dr. Wells has published numerous articles and book chapters on Shakespeare's comedies, histories, and tragedies, with a special interest in the connection between wordplay and theatrical experience. As a textual editor, she writes notes and introductions for the New Kittredge Shakespeare series aimed at making the forbidding language and the delightful artistic experiences of Shakespeare's works more available to students. In addition to Shakespeare, Dr. Wells also teaches course in British Literature, Composition, Literary Studies, Shakespeare and Film, Editing Shakespeare, and Adolescent and Young Adult Literature. When she is not teaching or organizing events for the majors, Dr. Wells may be found gardening, cooking, or writing quirky short stories that her children have called "mostly harmless."
