A native from Puerto Rico, Dr. Sandra Soto Cabán joined Muskingum University in 2008 as the first engineering faculty member of the newly created Engineering Science program. At Muskingum, she teaches several engineering courses and conducts research in the fields of electromagnetics and engineering education. As a member of an underrepresented group in her field, she is a strong advocate for women participation in STEM.

Sandra is a first-generation college student who received her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez, and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. She’s a Senior Member of the IEEE, member of the ASEE, and member of the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies.
