Professor Schroer is Chair of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology and was elected Executive Secretary to the Faculty in 2019. She is a recipient of the William Oxley Thompson Award for excellence in teaching. She directs The Athlete & Scholars Program for first-year athletes and holds ATIXA certification as a level one civil rights investigator. She currently serves on the executive board of ACE Women’s Network, Ohio.

Professor Schroer’s achievements include research, publications, and presentations in diversity, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. As an undergraduate, she majored in sociology and communication followed by graduate studies in sociology at Western Michigan University as the Leonard C. Kercher Fellow. She is a member of the 2018 cohort of the HERS Institute at Bryn Mawr.
