University Operations

Do you have plans to hold classes on-campus during the fall semester?

We are making plans to reopen the Muskingum campus for in-person classes and student housing in the fall.  We are preparing specific plans to enable a return to on-campus learning and living for our undergraduate students with careful attention paid to state and federal health guidance. We are also continuing our investment in innovative online programs for adult learners and students who need more flexible attendance options.

Is the Muskingum campus still closed?

Campus offices are gradually opening over the next few weeks for pre-arranged appointments only. Buildings on campus remain closed aside from use by these designated employees.

Are there any known cases of coronavirus on campus?

No.

Current Students

Have summer courses been affected by COVID-19?

Since our summer programming occurs online, our May Term and More Program will continue as planned. Please follow this link for additional information. (It’s a great opportunity to get ahead with your coursework over the summer. Pell grants do apply to summer programming!)

I have questions about my spring classes. Who can help me?

Email studenthelp@muskingum.edu and we will get in touch with the right people to answer your questions.

Will virtual learning continue when face-to-face classes resume?

We eagerly anticipate the return to face-to-face interaction. However, we intend to apply what we have learned about the innovative use of technology to strengthen all of our programs.

Can I still register for fall classes?

Absolutely! Students must contact their advisors to review course registration plans, and then can be cleared to register on MuskieLink.   If you have questions, send them to studenthelp@muskingum.edu and we will get you connected for registration.

Prospective Students

I plan to attend Muskingum University this fall. Is there going to be an orientation program?

Yes, we have six (virtual) Muskie Preview Programs that are scheduled to take place on May 27, 28 and 29 as well as June 10, 11, and 12.  Once you pay your enrollment deposit, you are eligible to sign up here: Muskie Preview Registration

We are excited to walk through your fall experience with you, including reviewing your Fall 2020 class schedule in a 1:1 meeting with a faculty member, participating in an interactive group where you will meet other new students, and joining chat rooms to watch videos and talk with staff and current students about the Muskingum experience. See you there!

Am I able to visit campus?

Beginning May 19, 2020, Muskingum University will reopen our campus to prospective students and their guests.  For the health and safety of our visitors and campus community, we have developed and implemented safety measures that align with the Ohio Department of Health’s orders. We will provide additional information to you at the time of your visit. In the meantime, here are some preliminary protocols:

  1. If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you contact one of our admission counselors and enjoy a virtual tour until you have recovered – we’ll be here for you!
  2. Our employees will wear face coverings when you visit. If you are able to do so, please consider wearing a face covering inside our buildings. If you need a face covering, we are happy to provide one to you.
  3. Hand sanitizer will be available in multiple locations on campus.
  4. Please limit your number of guests. Our total group size, including employees, must be less than 10 people per appointment.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
