Internship Program Checklist
_____ Review the internship information booklet, "INTERNSHIP MANUAL," in the office of Career Services.
_____ Secure a faculty sponsor from the department in which the internship credit will be registered. If the internship is not for credit, arrange with the office of Career Services for an appropriate faculty/staff sponsor.
_____ Search for internship opportunities using the resources in the office of Career Services, the Center for Advancement of Learning, the campus library, or design a unique opportunity and consult with your faculty sponsor.
_____ Prepare a cover letter and resume to send to potential internship sites during your search.
_____ Attend one of the workshops presented by the office of Career Services on resume writing, job searches, and internships.
_____ Interview for the internship. You may wish to meet with the staff of the office of Career Services or the Center for Advancement of Learning for interviewing hints.
_____ Consult with the faculty sponsor and develop the Internship Learning Contract upon securing the internship. Discuss evaluation procedures and requirements for the internship. Have faculty sponsor sign the Learning Contract.
_____ Meet with the Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs to review plan for internship and have the Learning Contract signed by that office.
_____ Meet with the Director of the office of Career Services and the Director of the CALto review and sign the Learning Contract.
_____ Register for the internship with the office of the Registrar. Submit your completed Learning Contract and Student/Parent waiver to the office of the VPAA, with a copy to the office of the Registrar and to the Center for Advancement of Learning.
