Solar storms sent a cloud of x-rays earthward last week , affecting some airline navigation systems and satellite phones. Experts predict that the heightened solar activity could continue for at least several weeks.

An estimated 30 people, including two American soldiers , were killed in four suicide bombings in Baghdad Monday. More than 200 others were injured in the bombings, which targeted the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as three police stations.

Paul Burrell, the late Princess Diana's butler, has published his new book, "A Royal Duty," in Great Britain. The book details secrets of the royal family.

Russia's richest man, Mikhail B. Khodorkovsky, was arrested last weekend on charges of fraud, tax evasion and forgery, and in the days after the arrest, the Russian stock market has been tumbling.
