Drew Smith In an attempt to bring in more customers BP remodels installing a new commercial size barbecue grill that offers a complete menu, and comfortable seating to feast. The full menu grill is called 3 D's BBQ and is located inside the BP on Friendship Drive. May 1 of last year BP owner Debbie Hinderer decided to enhance her business by putting in the grill and offering something different from the traditional pizza and college concocted meals. "I brought in the barbecue because I was sick of pizza and subs," Hinderer said. Hinderer said being from Texas she misses brisket. 3 D's BBQ offers a variety of tasty grillables and country side dishes at reasonable pricing. The grill offers a full slab of ribs for $12.99 and a whole chicken for only $5.99. They offer beef brisket for $4.59 per pound. Brisket can also be bought by the sandwich for $3.99. If beef is not your bag then try the chopped pork sandwich for $2.99. Or try the combo meals from a half chicken and a half rack of ribs for $11.99. Or try the half rack and 1 pound of brisket for $12.49. To accents a good meal 3 D's BBQ has many side dishes to choose from. Den's famous potato casserole is available by the pound or half pound. Also available: baked beans, creamy Cole sole, American potato salad and buttered rolls. "Our top two sellers are the brisket and the ribs," Hinderer said. Within the first month of the installment of 3 D's BBQ, BP's business increased 45-52 percent compared to that of the old BP. The new improved BP gas and convenient store brought new customers from road travelers to hungry high school and college students. The owner Hinderer says that she plans for business to stay at this steady rate of increased business. The new edition of 3 D's BBQ brings many hungry college students. "I like to get a whole chicken there because its better than school food and doesn't burn your wallet," said sophomore, Dan Staab. "It is good to have around for when I am burnt out on pizza joints." "The ribs are the best and are way better than Plus One Pizza," said freshmen Jeff Butcher. "The prices beat the hell out of Domino's and the prices are sweet."
