Jimmy Sharp Just when you thought the envelope could be pushed no farther, Johnny Knoxville and friends used it to brutally paper-cut each other in the recent release of "Jackass: The Movie." Of course, with the sick cult success of MTV's show, it was only a matter of time before the stunts (midget launching) and practical jokes (Brad Pitt's kidnapping) were packaged as a motion picture. The film follows the same episodic nature of the show. There is no plot, only 80 minutes of all-new, COMPLETELY uncensored play. Think of it as hyper-"Jackass." Yes unfortunately, this one has it all. An NC-17 rating may not be necessary but any parent that would allow their child to accompany them to the movie must have snorted one too many lines of wasabi. I do not mean to sound conservative, or condone wasabit snorting as they do in the film for that matter. All I am saying is that parents should not waste their money on such twenty-first century garbage. MTV and Dickhouse Productions are the two more clearly defined driving forces behind this masterpiece. If we dig a little deeper, I am sure a couple of sponsors are getting their kick-backs because the product placement is overwhelming and in-your-face. I find it hard to believe this group, who are getting paid well enough to shoot fireworks out of their asses, would be so vocal about the Miller High-Life they were drinking. Even so, I will admit the guilty pleasure I took in viewing the picture. The main stars of the show Bam Maren, Steve-O, Wee Man and others join their fearless leader (Knoxville) in unleashing their demons on the big screen. At times, I was unable to take notes for fear of missing the self-abuse and torment the actors, if they can be called that, put themselves through. The party seemed to have spilt crossed the nation, wrecking anything and everything along the way. During their tour, the jackasses did capture the most revolting film footage I have ever seen. Sure "Jackass: The Movie" is grossly amusing but the fact that movies like this can be made disgusts me.
