From President Sue Hasseler

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Muskingum University website! I invite you to learn more about how this very special University community is dedicated to educating the whole person for the whole world.

A Muskingum education is transformative. Our students are inspired, challenged, encouraged, and supported as they explore, create, expand their knowledge and perspectives, and prepare for success in an ever-changing world.

I believe that each of us finds our own purpose and meaning in life by engaging with and serving others and the world. Here at Muskingum, our students immediately begin to engage with and have an impact on the world around them.

Hands-on experiences such as research projects with faculty members, internships, leadership opportunities, service learning, and study abroad connect our students with exciting partners in our community, our region, and the world.

In an atmosphere of entrepreneurial thinking and innovative educational programs, our students gain the courage and the ability to take risks, welcome new opportunities, engage with complex problems and ideas, embrace ambiguity, persist in the face of challenges, seek justice – and to soar!

For more than 180 years, our rich tradition of excellence has defined what it means to be a “Muskie” – and our alumni have gone out to serve with excellence, in almost any profession you can name and in their roles as neighbors, leaders, and friends.

Whether you are a prospective student or family member, a patron of our arts and athletic events, a neighbor or a friend of Muskingum, or someone who is brand new to Muskingum, I encourage you to continue to explore our University.

We are excited to share our “Muskie Pride” with you and we hope to greet you on our campus!

Sincerely,

President Sue Hasseler
