Jason Schaumleffel '18 earns top honors at speech tournament

Muskingum University first-year student Jason Schaumleffel earned top honors at the Audrey Cunningham Forensics 500 Tournament, held September 20 in Indianapolis.

Schaumleffel, a computer science and political science major, won in the category of extemporaneous speaking, which requires the student to prepare and present a speech on a specific topic in a strictly controlled amount of time.

The tournament was attended by more than a dozen colleges and universities from five states.

Also representing the Muskingum team were Jaliah Oglesby '18, a business management and marketing major, who competed in prose interpretation; and Cody Petit '15, a political science and communication major, who competed in prose and persuasive speaking.

The director of forensics at Muskingum is Instructor of Communication Rachel Pollock.
