Women’s soccer coach elected association president, team earns NSCAA awards

Mary Beth Caudill, Muskingum University’s head women's soccer coach, was named president of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) at the annual meeting of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)  held recently in Baltimore, Maryland.  At the same meeting, the women’s soccer team received awards for both ethics and sportsmanship and academic excellence.

Coach Caudill will now lead the oldest and one of the most prestigious college soccer associations in the nation. The group represents all Ohio divisions of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

The team earned honors, receiving both the NSCAA Ethics/Sportsmanship Silver Award and the Team Academic Award for 2010.

The Muskingum team was one of only 72 from three national divisions to earn the prestigious Ethics/Sportsmanship Silver Award, and the only Ohio Athletic Conference member to earn the honor.   Under Coach Caudill, the team has been honored with either the Gold or Silver Award in 10 of the last 13 years.

The 2010 Team Academic Award is the 14th  consecutive year the team has earned the honor.
