Professor to screen documentary at film festival
Muskingum University Professor of Sociology Dr. Steve McGuire has been selected to screen his documentary film, 1948 and Counting, at the 4th Annual Cinema Verde Environmental Film and Arts Festival in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. McGuire’s film centers on Costa Rica’s 1948 decision to not maintain a formal army, despite various regional threats. Previously, Dr. McGuire’s experimental film, A Day in the Life, was screened at the Seattle Truly Independent Film Festival and the San Francisco New Media Film Festival, as well as earning an award from The Indie Gathering, an Ohio film festival.
Now in its fourth year, the Cinema Verde Festival is committed to bringing together community organizations, businesses and individuals who wish to help forge sustainable solutions to important issues facing the world.
