Muskingum College expands course offerings to include adult undergraduate degree completion at the Coshocton Campus
Muskingum College is now offering its Muskingum Adult Program (MAP) for adults wishing to complete their undergraduate degrees at the Coshocton Campus. The college began offering the MAP program at its main campus in New Concord last fall.
This program is specifically tailored to adults wishing to complete their bachelor's degree, who very often are working at full- or part-time jobs and need to attend classes at nontraditional times. It offers bachelor's degrees in accounting, business and education, using courses from both the Coshocton and New Concord campuses. Between the two campuses, classes are offered during the evening, on weekends and during the summer months, and run on a twelve-month calendar with new sessions starting frequently.
Muskingum had previously offered only graduate level classes at the Coshocton Campus. The new courses are being offered, in part, because of frequent requests by Coshocton area business leaders.
Ruthann Fagan, Muskingum's associate vice president of academic affairs and dean of graduate and continuing studies, explained the decision to offer the program by saying, "The flexibility of this program, coupled with Muskingum's outstanding reputation as a college, makes this an ideal opportunity for adults who wish to complete their undergraduate degree."
Fagan also noted, "This program prepares students for and assists them with career advancement. To do that, adults want a program that is straight forward with flexible schedules, affordable tuition and job placement assistance. MAP offers these features, and more."
