Muskingum College named to "Best National Liberal Arts Colleges" list

AUGUST 20, 2004 - Muskingum College was once again named in the "best national liberal arts colleges" rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report. The listing will appear in the 2005 edition of the newsstand book, America's Best Colleges, which goes on sale on Monday, August 23, and on USNEWS.com.

The weekly edition of U.S. News & World Report magazine contains some of the rankings and will also go on sale August 23.

This marks the fourth year that Muskingum has been named to the list of national colleges. Prior to 2001, Muskingum had been listed in the Midwest regional classification of colleges.

"Muskingum's academic excellence is again affirmed by U.S. News. Our reputation is spreading as evidenced by our 530 new students, a college record," said Muskingum College President Anne C. Steele.

Muskingum recently announced a new degree completion program for adults and several new graduate programs in education. Plans to dedicate the new state-of-the-art Philip and Betsey Caldwell Hall are set for October.
