Muskingum College forensics team places in the nation's top ten

APRIL 20, 2004 - The Muskingum College forensics team has returned to the nation's top ten with a fourth place performance at the 34th annual National Forensic Association (NFA) national tournament held at Western Illinois University in Macomb, April 15-20.

Dan Shuey '07 led the way with four qualified events. Additionally, Shuey qualified for the 132nd annual Interstate Oratorical Association tournament, to be held April 23-24 in Phoenix, Arizona. This is the third year in a row a Muskingum student has represented Ohio at that tournament, which features the top two persuasive speakers from each state.

Kevin Triskett '08 followed up with two qualified events. Both were competing in their first NFA nationals.

This is Muskingum's strongest finish at the NFA tournament since the team took third place in 2001. At this year's tournament, Muskingum's speakers placed higher than their peers from schools including Purdue University, the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin.
