Muskingum University Assistant Sports Information Director

The Muskingum University Sports Information Department is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Sports Information Director. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sports Information Director and serve as a primary media contact for Muskingum’s 21 varsity sports.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing pre-game information, news releases, keeping in-game statistics, assisting in home-event management, responding to statistical and report requirements from the NCAA, Ohio Athletic Conference, and intercollegiate opponents, updating the Muskingum athletic web site with results, game stories, previews, statistics, student-athlete profiles, rosters and schedules, and utilizing Muskingum’s social media platforms to promote Muskingum’s athletic programs.

Essential responsibilities include the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to effectively supervise and train student personnel, and ability to work well with supervisor, coworkers, coaches, university administrators, the campus community, and the public. Candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills. Evening and weekend work will be required.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, with previous experience working in a sports information office. The candidate must have the necessary skills to effectively utilize Stat Crew, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and various social media platforms.

Graduate Assistant in Softball – Muskingum University

Muskingum University invites applications for a one-year with a one-year renewable contract (two years preferred) as a graduate assistant coach in Softball. The position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics and the Head Softball Coach. Duties include assisting with all phases of a national caliber NCAA Division III softball program. The graduate assistant coach for softball also serves as a fall soccer game manager, plus any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Successful candidate must have intercollegiate softball experience.

This is a ten month appointment which begins August 1, 2016. Position includes graduate school tuition remission for Muskingum University, monthly stipend, room and board. Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree and qualify for admission into Muskingum University's graduate school. Candidates should posses a strong commitment to motivate, teach, counsel and recruit student-athletes within the guidelines of the NCAA and the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Graduate Assistant in Athletics Football – Muskingum University

Muskingum University invites applications for a one-year with a one-year renewable contract as a graduate assistant coach in Football. The position is under the supervisor of the Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach. Duties include to serve as an assistant football coach to aid the head coach in all designated areas. Also serves as the winter sport game manager to assist the Director of Athletics and various head coaches in home game administrative responsibilities. This is a ten-month appointment. Position includes graduate tuition remission, monthly stipend, room and board. Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree and qualify for admission into Muskingum's graduate program.

Duties include assisting with all phases of the intercollegiate volleyball program, Spring Sports Game Manager and any additional duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
