MAE: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Endorsement (TESOL)
The need for ESL teachers is growing - adding TESOL allows you to teach English to these students. No prior experience or second language is required.
The TESOL Endorsement is for teachers in ALL licensure areas AND for individuals who want to teach English as a foreign language in various businesses, both internationally and in the United States.
Course offered in the TESOL program will count toward a master's degree - ONLY 4 additional classes are needed.
Through this program, licensed teachers can qualify for the endorsement through the Ohio Department of Education. Students who are not licensed teachers may also complete this program, but will not be able to qualify for the ODE endorsement or any other ODE license. Praxis II requirements: PLT (any grade level) or equivalent and Teaching English as a Second Language (0360).
TEACH Grants are available for students pursuing a master's degree. Contact Student Financial Services for more information (740-826-8139).
