Having problems downloading DOCx files using Internet Explorer?

Commonly experienced with Blackboard, this is an Internet Explorer 7 (or higher version) configuration change. To remedy, adjust your IE browser settings as follows:

1. Select Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Level.
2. Scroll down to the setting that says "Open Files Based on Content, not file extension" found under the Miscellaneous category.
3. Set to Disabled. (If this is enabled, IE will treat the files as zip files. If it's disabled, it should open the file.)

Windows 7 Preparation

With the impending release of Microsoft Windows 7 (scheduled for an October 22 release), CNS is starting to receive inquiries regarding which version will be appropriate for students to utilize. While Muskingum and CNS prefer that you utilize the Professional Edition, it has been determined that any version will be able to connect to the campus network. Should you choose either the Starter or the Home Premium edition, you need to be aware that you will not be able to utilize the enterprise workgroup feature. Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack

By installing the Compatibility Pack, in addition to Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able to open, edit, and save files using the file formats new to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007. The Compatibility Pack can also be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003, Excel Viewer 2003, and PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to view files saved in these new formats.

"Rthdcpl.exe - Illegal System DLL Relocation" -- Click Here to download the fix. Save it to your desktop and then run the program. It may require a reboot when finished.
